Motorhome Stuff - German Stellplatz

Where to find information on Stellplatz and Campsites.

Books

There are dozens of books published in Europe listing Campsites, Stellplatz and Aires de Service. These are some that I currently use or have used in the past.

The German motorhomer's Bible

Published annually by Reise Mobil International, the German motorhome magazine. There's a companion volume, which is included in the price, covering sites in the rest of Europe.

It can be purchased on-line in the UK from Vicarious Books although I tend to buy my copy from Amazon.de as it's usually available slightly earlier. ISBN No : 4 194010 719902
RMI / Bordatlas Website

The best campsite list for Germany.

Issued by the German Camping Club but available to non-members via bookshops and camping shops.
Again, I now tend to buy my copy from Amazon.de.
ISBN No : 13 978 3871410321
DCC Website

Unlike the UK clubs, the DCC don't actually own campsites but they 'recommend' sites which meet required standards.

Camperstop Europe and one of a range by Dieter Semmler.

The CamperStop Guide is also available from Vicarious Books ISBN No : 90-76080-09-7 but I've never seen any of Semmler's books (which are German language) available in the UK. There are now over 20 books in the series, covering several countries in Europe, the one shown is ISBN No : 978-3-932538-22-3. A Link to the RID Publishing House website (in English).

Two unusual ones acquired along the way.

The 'Top Platz' book was a give-away with a German Motorhome magazine and the Campergids is a Dutch book covering Europe that was given to me by a 'neighbour' on a campsite. I have never seen this one for sale in Germany or the Netherlands. ISBN No : 978-90-76080-13-0

Others that I've used in the past.

The two on the left are published by Pro Mobil the other big German motorhome magazine, the two on the right by ADAC, the German equivalent of the AA/RAC, and the one in the centre by ACSI, the European camp site specialist.

Websites

Really too many websites to list. In this instance, Google is your friend. Unfortunately, you may find that most of them are in German. However, if you're using the Firefox web browser, install the Google toolbar and set up the translation tool to allow you to read the page in English.
