The Covenant

1.) As a Poster to the Hallowed Halls of S.C.S., I shall post only the Truth (as I see it), and accept nothing less than Total Capitulation from my fellow Posters.

5.) I shall abide by the Straight and Narrow ; and Logic and Verity shall govern my course. When making up Facts I shall do my best to make up supporting Sources as well ; a complete made-up Bibliography would be best.

C.) I shall not Flame my fellow Posters, save that they Deserve it, in some manner to be determined by myself alone, with God's counsel (unless I don't believe in Him).

7.) When the Flaming of one or more of my fellow Posters has been deemed Necessary - according to the Will Of God and Myself - I shall do so with the utmost care and honour. I will be certain to mention my target's Mother, as this is but simple courtesy. I will question which Diseases and Disorders my target may suffer from - everyone appreciates concern about their Health. I will not slight, by omission, my target's Ancestry, Religion, or Politics - one should be cognizant of the failings of Others, and their likely provenance as a result of either Nature or Nurture . . .

Q.) When starting New Threads, I shall follow the guidelines as set down by St. Jon in the Times of Trouble : if I am a Britclone, I will revile any and all things having to do with Scottish Culture as being 'Quaint Brigadoonery'; gin Ah am a Scot, Ah'll scrieve anerly in the Leid, or the best Ah can pass it fir, maugre ma ain scant skeel at it; if I am an Expat, I will commingle Fusty Nostalgia with the mores of my Adoptive Country; if I am an American, I will start a Gun Thread.

DO HEREBY SOLEMNLY SWEAR TO ABIDE BY THE AFOREMENTIONED COVENANT (SAVING ONLY THAT IT BE INCONVENIENT FOR ME TO DO SO), AND PROMISE MY LIFE AND HONOUR IN THE SERVICE OF THE BETTERMENT OF S.C.S., BY ENLIGHTENING THE BENIGHTED FOOLS WHO FREQUENT IT WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF MY WISDOM, AND BY THE DISPENSATION OF SUCH MERCY AS I SHALL DEIGN TO SHOW THEM, AMEN.
