Many requests have been received from people seeking some insight into the background of this amazing and many talented man. An autobiography, to be called, The Life and Times of J.J., is currently in planning. Until then, the following brief information is all which he will permit to be disclosed.
The good Doctor bears multi-national citizenship. This situation, being somewhat unusual, may merit some further explanation. He was born aboard an aircraft operated by a now defunct Australian airline, on an international flight from Frankfurt to Montreal, to a Swedish / Italian mother. Josiah's father, who was of Peruvian / Hungarian extraction was a naturalized citizen of the U.S.A.
The fact that the aircraft was in Scottish airspace at the time allowed Josiah to claim that country as his own. Reports from that time would further indicate that his mother held back from giving birth for several minutes so that her son would be born whilst the aircraft was flying over Glasgow rather than over Edinburgh.
It quickly became apparent that Josiah was a talented child. He could play the piano at the age of four years and his rendering of 'Chopsticks' would apparently bring tears to the eyes. Unfortunately, at the age of eight, this wayward genius fell foul of the authorities following his succesful attempt to extract alcohol from potato skins and bottle and sell the results to his classmates.
He was sent off to Little Use Reform School for Boys, where he completed his education. Leaving there at sixteen years, he attended the University of Delhi before transferring to MIT, where he attempted to take a business course, unaware that the scholarship which he had been offered at Harvard, and which he had turned down, would have been the better choice.
Despite the number of qualifications which he has gained in the fields of Physics, Applied Science, Engineering, Law and Medicine, he rarely uses any of these titles, preferring instead to be addressed simply as 'Doc Jenkins'.
He has, of course, also had a notable and distinguished Military career.
Distinguished in the fact that he has managed to absent himself from Korea, Malaya, Cyprus, Vietnam, The Falklands, The Persian Gulf and every other 'hot spot' around the world since 1950.
He lived and worked in the United States for several years, latterly in the position of personal physician to an elderly gentleman in Georgia. He now resides in Europe, having left the United States a few years ago under somewhat mysterious circumstances which he refuses to discuss further.
He has also appeared in the International Court at the Hague, acting on behalf of Mr Micheil Rob MacPhadruig. The action brought related to the infamous 'missing' shipment of Talisker Scotch whisky which "disappeared" in extremely suspicious circumstances whilst in transit somewhere between the State of Washington and Redneck, Georgia. Naturally, he won a total acquittal for his client.
He is currently engaged in the writing of a book, 'Who Et the Wane' which relates the history of the infamous Scottish / American family, "The MacRoberts", under an exclusive contract, for an undisclosed advance, which he recently signed with Perfidious Alban Publishing.
A somewhat reclusive gentleman, there are few photographs of Doctor Jenkins in the public domain. However, due to demand, mainly from his many female admirers, we have searched the archives and have managed to find these two photographs. At the top of the page is one of Josiah taken a few years ago, the one below shows Josiah and some of his 'friends' relaxing on a recent holiday.
